Each February and September, fashion designers showcase their amazing, avant-garde collections during four Fashion Weeks, setting up the top trends for the following season. However, most of these collections are not really made for everyday use, with the extravaganza ruffles, see through tops and padded shoulders, not to mention some of the crazy high heels.

However, you can adapt new seasonal trends subtly to your existing wardrobe by accessorising and investing in individual statement pieces. Here are some of the biggest trends for the spring/summer 2017, and pieces that you should include to your closet this season.

SLOGANS

Slogan T-shirts are very much in this season. It's a way to make a statement, and text in a T-shirt is a fun detail. Mango has created the high-street 'IT' item of the season, definitely something you should include in your wardrobe. Shop it HERE for £17.99.

RUFFLES

Ruffles are from year to year one of the biggest trends in the spring. And so it happens to be this year as well! You're in luck if you can find a ruffled shirt or dress from your wardrobe from last summer, but if not, this Sandro dress will fill the gap. Shop it HERE for £335.97.

SLEEVES

Asymmetric, big sleeves are definitely trend that was seen on the runways, and now on the high-street as well. This IRO top will definitely turn some heads. Shop it HERE for £474.

WHITE DRESSES

A white dress is definitely an essential in your spring/summer wardrobe. This Zadig & Voltaire dress, with a tie on the waist, is perfect wear on a sunny day. Shop it HERE for £235.

PINK

What would be a better colour to brighten your spring day than pink?! If you're not a fan of a all-pink-everything-look that some designer presented on the runway, another way to add some pink to your outfit is by accessorising. This light pink Saint Laurent bag is perfect for this. Shop it HERE
